The Rotunda recently hosted the Workers’ Compensation Community Toy Drive, in collaboration with the Oakland Alameda County Firefighters Local 55, a meaningful community event supported by Boxer, one of our valued Rotunda tenants. The evening brought together leaders, partners, and community members for a powerful cause: supporting local families during the holiday season. This year’s Toy Drive was a tremendous success. Thanks to the generosity of the workers’ compensation community, the event filled 20 containers with toys and raised $27,398.37 for the Oakland-Alameda County-Emeryville Firefighters Charity.
The event featured an inspiring lineup of speakers and participants, including:
Mayor Barbara Lee
Maria Grasso, Partner & Event Organizer
Presiding Judge Gene Lam
Presiding Judge Eugene Goggernan
Fire Chief Damon Covington
Firefighter Nader Modawar

The generosity on display was remarkable, with hundreds of new toys donated for children of all ages, each gift representing a moment of joy, comfort, and celebration for families in our community this holiday season.

Guests, partners, and supporters came together to raise an impressive $27,398.37, demonstrating the deep commitment of the workers’ compensation community to giving back and supporting local families in meaningful ways.

The excitement grew as attendees entered for a chance to win exceptional raffle prizes from Warriors tickets to autographed jerseys, adding a fun and spirited element that brought even more energy to the night.

Rhonda Sauce’s vibrant, soulful performance brought a sense of warmth and connection to the evening, filling The Rotunda with joyful energy.

One of the most memorable highlights was the firefighters’ parade rig, where families and children lined up eagerly to take photos, a unique and heartfelt experience that brought smiles to faces of all ages.

Guests enjoyed delicious wine and appetizers generously provided by Scott’s Jack London Square, helping set a welcoming and festive tone as everyone connected, celebrated, and
supported the cause together.

The Toy Drive was supported by a wide network of firms, medical groups, and community organizations showcasing how strong collaboration drives meaningful impact. As a Rotunda tenant, Boxer+Gerson played a central role in supporting and elevating the event alongside major partners. Their involvement helped bring together stakeholders, sponsors, and community leaders for a powerful evening of giving. Evenings like this show how The Rotunda continues to be a place where people come together; tenants, partners, and leaders alike to strengthen community bonds and create lasting impact.
