Rubicon Point Partners (RPP) has long held that great real estate investments do more than generate returns, they strengthen the communities around them. That conviction is on full display this week as RPP partners with Oakland-rooted organizations to launch “Know Your Roots,” a storefront activation opening May 8, 2026 at 300 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, inside the iconic Rotunda building in the heart of downtown Oakland.
Originally constructed as a grand department store, The Rotunda has been a cornerstone of Oakland’s downtown for generations. Its distinctive architecture and central location have made it a landmark that the community holds close and one that RPP is working to honor as it breathes new life into the space.
“Know Your Roots” is more than an event, it’s a statement about what Oakland’s future can look like when local culture is at the center of it. The activation is produced by Good Mother Studio in collaboration with Oakland Roots Sports Club, with support from ThredUp and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). Together, these partners are creating a space where local artists, culture, and community can converge and thrive.
The initiative reflects RPP’s approach to stewardship: preserving the historic character of The Rotunda while investing in its next chapter.
As the “Know Your Roots” activation launches, RPP continues to move forward with a broader vision for the building. The Rotunda is now actively leasing office, retail, restaurant, coworking, and event space offering a range of options for businesses, creatives, and operators looking to plant their own roots in downtown Oakland.
For RPP, the message is clear: investing in Oakland means investing with Oakland its people, its history, and its future.
